I cannot stress it enough. If it is anything I learned from people like Keith Ferrazzi it is "build it, before you need it!" You should be actively building relationships no matter how successful you are.

For some, it is very difficult to reach out to others. Especially if you live in a rural area like I do. That mustn't stop you. You really must step over the line in situations that would normally keep you at bay if you really plan to start selling yourself and take action with becoming successful. Travelling, going to seminars and events, and connecting with all kinds of people - no matter what race or gender -are the most important things you can do in selling yourself. You create friendships, please clients, and gain prospects.

Everybody is worth something. You must stop thinking that just because someone may not want your service today, doesn't mean you can't help them or they can't help you in the future. Someone may know someone, that knows someone, that knows someone else, that NEEDS you. I cannot tell you how easy it is for even the big wigs to lose sight of their clientele and customer service. This is all driven by how you form, sustain, and successfully obtain relationships. Building relationships online and offline will be absolutely crucial in how you monetize your brand. Being genuine relationships will be crucial to your survival.
