About Me
About Jason Silvestri:
As a business man, for the past 14+ years I have built up my skill sets to include video production/marketing, graphics design, and software engineering using technologies such as Microsoft .NET(C# & VB) and now PHP as well. In addition, I use several client-side coding protocols as well such as HTML, jQuery, Ajax and CSS. I use this experience to develop online brands that separate people & businesses from their competition. In just the past two years alone, I have contracted my services to several great companies such as MIT, Invacare Supply Group, Zeta Interactive. I am actively working for many clients in various industries, helping business brands and personal brands alike.
I consider myself a 360 Degree Leader; a person that can wear many hats and also one who can deliver solution with a plethora of strategy that not only satisfies client initiatives, but also builds strong brand awareness around their businesses as well.
Recent 2012 Jason Silvestri Updates:
I no longer provide direct services through JasonSilvestri.com. You may use my contact form to reach out to me on business oriented interactions.
Effective February 15, 2012, most services and solutions offered on JasonSilvestri.com were removed, and JasonSilvestri.com is now restored back to its original theme. To elaborate, JasonSilvestri.com use to be a place where personal brands and small business owners could come to get 100% complimentary information and support. Not to mention a hefty morale boost! Even though this has always been the case, I ended up adding minor revenue generating concepts throughout the years to offset some of the costs and time investments that went into the complimentary content I created. This made things more business oriented; naturally. Although widely accepted and effective with my following, I felt it took away from the whole giving-back-to-society bit, which is really what I strive for most with my personal brand and why JasonSilvestri.com was created in the first place. In addition, I now feel that I have enough big plans in store for 2012 with my business relations, inventions, and personal desires that it would be best to bring back what I truly represent, and that is, being a motivator and being someone who really cares for the success of others. Removing revenue generating services is just one of many proofs that are to come. However, it is not all entirely good news, though, because with this change comes a bombshell of truths about the social marketing industry that I feel obligated to reveal now that money isn’t involved.
There has been a lot of misleading success tips taught to people by various mentors in the social media and personal branding spaces. People were taught that if you create your own personal brand, use the social networks of the World to push your message and produce good content that you will rise above the rest because of the massive word of mouth potential. People were taught the rewards would get them speaking engagements, signing deals, contracts with companies beyond their wildest dreams, and accrue various fortunes just based on their glory stories alone. The mentors would preach, “Get a facebook account, hop on Twitter, create a blog, and with the right passion added to the mix you’ll become it!” What they don’t tell you is “it” involves huge marketing budgets to perfect your cause. Many of these hope peddlers don’t tell you how they had hundreds of thousands of dollars, even millions of dollars, beforehand, to A & B test approaches, which they could afford to win and fail. They don’t tell you how they throw massive funds into paid social ads such facebook ads and promoted tweets to build their following. Or how they use pay per click ads, mailing lists, and your hopes to reel you in. They don’t tell you how good content must be backed by data and proof which also takes time, funding and resources to accomplish it and push it out to the public. Speaking engagements? What they don’t tell you is that they have huge PR campaigns in place with companies working on their behalf to get their gigs constantly. What has saddened me most, though, and is what has made me feel guilty for months now, is knowing a lot of these victims who now utilize these social networks and hammer their blogs with everything they got, feel as though they have to keep moving forward with it to disguise the reality that they have sacrificed years of dream catching. Yes, the methods worked for me and still do all the time. I have used social media and my personal brand to build my brand successfully. I have generated thousands of dollars in revenue because of it, but that is with proper experience in my trades, creating the proper resources, and also incorporating the proper funding to achieve most things that I do.
Social networks are a very effective tool that, if used appropriately, with the right timing and marketing funds, can be a very effective approach to connecting with your consumers in ways you just couldn’t do 5 years ago. But that is just it. Consumers relate to business. Business relates to money. Money relates to greed. In general business practice, there is no room for fairy-tale-life-styles and interesting blog stories when all is said and done. Especially with the economy the way it is today. It sounded good at the time. Consumers, which should be bigger businesses or otherwise a huge fan base if you expect to become “it”, need results, experience, and useful service and products. Yes, there is the soccer mom with her $40K a year ad generation from her blog, and the internet rock stars that made it on YouTube, but these are small chances of luck in the 6.7 billion people World we are rocking out on right now! In the end, it will be about becoming an expert at what you do that will be what helps you REALLY make it in the end.
One of my focuses in the next several months will be to re-invent methods that can truly help a lot of people who truly don’t have the resources and budgets to make it happen. Until then, you can check out the complimentary videos and resources I have created for my peeps in the past. You can even expect some surprise updates in the upcoming months even though my focus is other places right now, which is generating revenue through services outside the JasonSilvestri.com walls. In the meantime, it is not all a loss. Start thinking about the knowledge you now have under your belt from all the social media propaganda and use it to do something extraordinary this year. I still rock the social networks when I can, so if you see me on LinkedIn, facebook or Twitter, feel free to chime in if you have questions.
Recent History:
I have a very heavy social media presence. I tend to use Twitter the most because I am followed by great minds such as Daniel H Pink, Gary Vaynerchuk, Guy Kawasaki, and Keith Ferrazzi; by companies such as Sony Pictures, Sears, Volkswagen, LifeLock; and even by government officials such as Barack Obama and Maria Shriver. Naturally, I have returned the favor. Visit my Social Media Presence page for more details. More importantly, though, I am most excited about the relationships I made through these interactions one way or another with people like Sana Ahmed, Tone Floreal, Alvin Claiborne, Jeff Mueller, and over 45,000 more.
I have been recently featured in articles by Business Insider and Small Biz Technology with my piece on, “Approach Social Media the Right Way – Insights from a Social Media Expert”, the title of which was given to me by the writers. Of course there is, “Confessions of a Failing Entrepreneur™”, a message and potential book I would like to write if I can sooner than not. A recent keynote I did was in Corvallis, Oregon with Ignite (Check it out here).
As an Ideation Renderer, I am the co-inventor of a patent pending software solution called, Toppler™, which allows people and businesses to securely document their goals, dreams and faults using Toppler’s patent pending Symbolualgraphic™ and Visual Book™ technologies, along with its resource binding algorithms, to provide consumers a free, fun, and easy way to obtain resources that will help them better their faults and achieve their goals and dreams. Toppler is expected to be released in 2012.
