What if?
What if you do not utilize me or my expertise?
"What if you don't utilize me or my expertise?"
I never even thought about it until
a guy by the name of,
Kevin DaSilva, from Twitter, asked me the
"what if" question
over a phone conversation one night,
many, many moons ago.To a lot of corporations and even some people, my actions and the content I provide via my website is inexcusable to a certain degree and is not tolerated in their workplace. They feel I have some growing up to do. The fact of the matter is, I do. There is certain knowledge that really only comes with age. I respect this deeply. Part of motivation, however, is "Play". If I can't roll up my sleeves at 2:00am with a grown in beard from 3 days of not shaving, joking with team players, trying to work out the next critical objective with you or a group of INDIVIDUALS from your team, maybe some potty mouth, and for sure a bunch of coffee, I am not sure if we would be a suitable match anyway. I respect rank and do what my superiors tell me to do. As far as I am concerned every client is my boss.
I think it really comes down to things like, "do you even need my support?" or "are my areas of expertise something you even care about?".
As one with many trades, I know those who do not choose me as a service provider or complimentary support system really do lose out in support and cost savings.
Even though I have been in business for myself close to a decade now with design and technology development, I have people like my father to thank for my knowledge and experience in how to get my head around broken business processes, and at such an early age. Although I am still at the young age of 30, I know the younger age brackets like me and gear up on the content I provide, and about 6 out of 10 corporate brands that contact me at least respect what I am doing; that is becoming a 360○ leader.
